What is misbranding?
A misbranded dietary supplement is a product with labeling that is false or misleading in any way.
This may include situations where:
- The label lacks information about the ingredients included in the formula, their quantities, or specific parts of any botanicals used
- The manufacturer makes false claims about the benefits of the product
- The contents do not meet required standards of identity, strength, quality, purity, or composition
- Required labeling elements (e.g., Supplement Facts panel, net quantity, name and place of business) are missing or incorrect
