I recently learned I (and/or someone in my family) have an MTHFR mutation(s). I don’t really deal with many health problems, but I want to take the right nutrients to protect me and my family from any future health issues that could develop down the line specifically from this genetic defect.
I have diabetes and/or cardiovascular symptoms (i.e. heart attack, heart disease, stroke, blood clots, aneurysm, deep vein thrombosis, peripheral neuropathy, anemia, etc.) – I am NOT depressed.
I have had miscarriages, a child with a neural tube defect or who is on the autism spectrum. I have had post-partum depression in the past. I do not consider myself depressed.
I have central nervous system symptoms (i.e. migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, brain fog, IBS, cerebral folate deficiency, ADD/ADHD/focus challenges, anxiety, etc.) – I don’t know if I’m depressed or not (I've never been formally diagnosed, but I don’t feel as happy as other people seem to be). I have rarer symptoms that seem to stump the doctors and make me more of a ‘special’ medical case.
I AM depressed and take (or have taken) anti-depressants. OR I think I am depressed - I’ve never been formally diagnosed and have not taken depression medication, but when I read the symptoms of depression, I feel pretty sure that describes me.
I don’t think I am depressed, but I’m not 100% sure, however, I would like my brain to function better for me in general. Sometimes I feel like I have brain fog and can't think as clearly as I used to; my cognition is more hazy than I want it to be. OR I have dementia/Alzheimer’s.
I am trying to get (or am already) pregnant – I am NOT depressed.
My homocysteine levels tested high (10 mcmol/L or higher) – how can I reduce them?
